Outfox Foxtail Hood

The patented OutFox® Field Guard is designed to help protect dogs’ eyes, ears, and noses from barbed grass seed penetration.

• The Field Guard is also used to help prevent scavenging and to help protect from insects.

We've been hiking dogs at Benji's Backyard since 2011 and the foxtail hood has been an essential part of our hikes keeping many dogs safe from the dangers of foxtails over the years. To acclimate your dog to one, we  recommend placing a few treats inside and allowing your dog to extract the treats by putting their head inside without hacing to wear it.  Progress to placing the hood on with treats inside and wearing it for short periods of time.  Soon your dog will become comfortable wearing it for longer periods of time and able to thoroughly enjoy the hike while wearing it and safely preventing them from getting a foxtail in their ears, eyes, mouth or nose!
